Hello, my name is Andrea. I am a Registered Dietitian (RD), licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland. I have a specialty in Diabetes as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and as a National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) Lifestyle Coach. I also am a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND) and uphold the ServSafe, National Restaurant Association Certification. I am the President and Health care Consultant for Health care for Wellness LLC, a wellness consulting practice providing nutrition and diabetes health care services for your individual and/or business needs.

I have several years of experience in the prevention and management of prediabetes, diabetes, and other chronic conditions such as but not limited to chronic kidney disease, endocrine disorders, high blood pressure and cholesterol, overweight, and obesity to help pediatric clients aged 15 years old and above, as well as adult clients make sustainable lifestyle changes that reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area.


I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Institution Administration and satisfied the completion of the Dietetics Plan IV General Dietetic Program from the University of Maryland, College Park. I completed an Approved Pre-Professional Practice Program (AP4) with Sodexo (formerly known as Marriott Food and Services Management Health Care Division). I am the recipient of three distinguished awards: the "Outstanding Dietitian of the Year" award in April 2013, given by the Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; the "Mary Lou Maras Diabetes Educator of the Year” award in 2015, given by the Capitol ADE-DC/Virginia local affiliation, of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES); and the “Outstanding Service” award in April 2022, given by Providence Health Systems/Providence Health Services.

At Morning Health, we are building the biggest network of independent dietitian practices and technology platform to connect them with patients and doctors.

2. Who can we help?

We help both patients and doctors.‍

For patients, you can find the right dietitian who is specialized in your health needs, take your insurance and familiar with your diet.

For doctors, we facilitate them to refer their patients to our network to find and book with a right dietitian. We support our partnered doctors to build a medical practice seamless integrated with nutrition and other professional services from our network.

3. Which insurance plans do we work with?

Our partnered practices currently work with United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare and some Medicaid plans in Maryland, DC and Virginia.

4. How much does it cost?

Your nutrition counseling sessions with a registered dietitian may be fully covered by your insurance company. 90% of Morning Health clients pay $0 out-of-pocket!

5. Do I need referral from my doctor for nutrition counseling?

You don't need a doctor referral to book an appointment with a dietitian at Morning Health. However, it is possible you would need a doctor's referral to have our care services covered by your insurance or you are in certain states like California.

If you need a referral, we will help you obtain it after you make an appointment.

6. Which states can you see patients in?

Our partnered practices are currently in Maryland, DC, Virginia and California.
